I’m Cristina Hernandez, founder of Chernandez Studio. I started this studio to bridge the gap between vision and production. We help brand teams and founds create sweaters and cut & sew knits reliably with expert support across design, development, and production. Our approach blends technical skill with an educator’s mindset to make the process clear and achievable. We are known for our ongoing relationships, supporting and empowering our clients as they grow.

  • "Cristina Hernandez is insightful, polished, and deeply knowledgeable— She led a workshop for our freelancers members on the “Essentials of Apparel Development” that covered the whole process from design to execution. Cristina brought a level of professionalism to the topic of apparel entrepreneurship that exceeded expectations. Their talk offered our members a valuable mix of practical strategy and operational know-how."

    - Jalen Vasquez, Freelancers Hub Director, Freelancer’s Union

  • "Cristina was amazing. She walked me through the process from cad to manufacturing. Her all around knowledge of fashion design was a wonderful assistance to me and I was able to rely on her with any questions and/or direction I wanted to take. As someone with a background in fashion but not in the design and production of garments, she was a treasure to work with."

    Eric Dorfman, Upside Down Yogi

  • "Cristina was amazing to work with and explained many of the steps to me that were completely new as someone from outside the industry. I highly recommend her work!"

    Matt M., Monochrome

  • "Cristina was such a strong part of our Lunch and Learn Knitwear panel. Her industry experience came through in everything she shared! What really stood out was how approachable and passionate she was; she has a gift for breaking things down and making knitwear feel accessible, even for people new to it."

    - Courtney Osborn Director, C.O. Connections

  • "Highly recommend this workshop! Both instructors were extremely knowledgeable and patient. Their information goes deeper than a typical workshop does and I got to learn a little about how the knitwear industry works. I also loved that they shared their patterns!"
